The Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix is one of the most anticipated additions to the global racing calendar, transforming the iconic Las Vegas Strip into a high-speed street circuit. As part of the event’s infrastructure, pedestrian bridges were constructed to allow safe crossing over the track during race weekends. RAXTAR was selected to provide vertical access solutions for these temporary structures, ensuring smooth and secure movement of thousands of spectators and staff.

Challenge
The project required a fast, safe, and reliable vertical access solution for temporary pedestrian bridges spanning the race circuit. The hoists needed to be installed and operational within a tight timeframe, while also meeting strict safety standards for public use. Given the high-profile nature of the event and the dense urban setting, the equipment had to be both efficient and unobtrusive, with minimal noise and visual impact.
RAXTAR Solution
RAXTAR delivered six RX SMART Series RXS2340HF hoists, each equipped with RX Control Next Level technology for remote monitoring and hybrid automation. These hoists were configured to provide seamless access to elevated pedestrian crossings, allowing racegoers to move safely above the track. The RX SMART Series was chosen for its compact footprint, quiet operation, and proven reliability in high-traffic environments.
Each hoist featured a load capacity of 2,300 kg (5,000 lbs) and a travel speed of 36 meters per minute (118 ft/min), ensuring rapid and efficient transport. The hybrid control system allowed for both manual and automatic operation, enhancing flexibility and responsiveness during the event.

The RAXTAR hoisting solution played a key role in the success of the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix. By enabling safe and efficient pedestrian flow across the circuit, the hoists contributed to a smooth and enjoyable experience for attendees.
