High-speed vertical access for a complex inner-city tower
Project Overview
Viadux is a landmark mixed-use tower rising above Manchester’s Deansgate Locks, combining residential, commercial and public spaces in a highly constrained city-centre site. With a 165-metre structure built directly above existing infrastructure, the project required a tailored vertical access approach that could support rapid façade enclosure and high-rise construction efficiency. Domis Construction and RAXTAR have been engineering solutions together since 2021 across Greater Manchester’s most complex builds.
Client: Domis Construction
Segment: High-rise mixed-use
Status: Ongoing
Location: Manchester, United Kingdom
Challenge
The restricted footprint and limited façade tie-in points demanded fast installation, high-speed hoisting and a hydraulic ramp system to allow safe and efficient façade closing at height.
RAXTAR Solution
RAXTAR deployed a high-speed EXPERT Series hoist configuration with hydraulic ramps, ensuring uninterrupted vertical movement throughout the build. The system enabled early façade closing and reliable transport of personnel and materials during peak construction periods.
Outcome
The engineered hoisting setup accelerated enclosure progress and improved construction flow, while meeting the site’s strict spatial constraints.
