Engineering Vertical Access for France’s Tallest Office Towers

Project Overview
The Link is a landmark twin-tower development located in the La Défense business district of Paris. Designed to become the new headquarters of TotalEnergies, the project features two interconnected towers, Arche (242 meters, 50 floors) and Seine (178 meters, 35 floors), linked by multiple skybridges. Upon completion, The Link will be the tallest office building in France and a defining feature of the Paris skyline. The project reflects a bold vision for sustainable, high-density urban workspaces.

Client: SOLUMAT (VINCI Construction)
Segment: High-rise / Commercial
Status: Nearing completion (2025)
Location: La Défense, Paris, France

Challenge
The Link’s dual-tower configuration and complex façade geometry required a highly adaptable vertical access solution. The system needed to support the transport of large façade panels and personnel across two towers simultaneously, while minimizing interference with the building’s architectural features. Additionally, the hoisting solution had to accommodate different tower heights and integrate with the construction schedule for both structural and finishing works.

RAXTAR Solution
RAXTAR delivered a comprehensive hoisting package tailored to the unique demands of The Link. This included:

RX3245 Twin hoists for personnel transport

Wide-body twin hoists (2.0 m and 2.5 m cabins) for façade panel logistics

CT-Lite systems deployed on selected floors for modular access

The combination of twin hoists and wide-body configurations enabled high-capacity, safe, and efficient vertical transport across both towers. The CT-Lite systems provided additional flexibility for accessing intermediate levels and adapting to the evolving construction phases. All equipment was delivered under a full-service agreement, including installation, maintenance, and technical support.

Outcome
The RAXTAR solution has proven instrumental in maintaining construction momentum on both towers. By enabling simultaneous access and transport across multiple elevations, the hoisting system has supported the timely installation of façade elements and interior works. The project showcases RAXTAR’s ability to deliver scalable, high-performance access solutions for the most ambitious high-rise developments in Europe.
