Smart Vertical Access for the Headquarters of VINCI in La Défense

Project Overview
RAXTAR provided a RX3000 hoist with a payload of 3000kg and an internal length of 4,6m to main contractor BATEG - VINCI Construction France. BATEG has chosen for our RX hoist because of the special hydraulic ramp in combination with the large door opening for facade elements. By 2021, this mixed-use group of buildings spanning 74,000 m2 will welcome nearly 4,000 employees.

L’Archipel is the flagship headquarters of VINCI, located in the La Défense district of Nanterre, just west of Paris. Completed in 2021, this modern office complex rises to 106 meters and spans 24 floors, offering approximately 74,000 square meters of office space. Designed as a symbol of transformation and innovation, L’Archipel integrates green spaces, collaborative work environments, and energy-efficient systems, reflecting VINCI’s commitment to sustainability and quality of life at work.

Challenge
The L’Archipel complex consists of multiple interconnected buildings with varying heights and layouts. This architectural complexity required a flexible and reliable vertical access solution that could support the construction of several structures simultaneously. The hoisting system needed to ensure safe and efficient transport of personnel and materials across the entire site, while adapting to the evolving construction phases and tight urban constraints.

RAXTAR Solution
RAXTAR provided a tailored hoisting solution to support the construction of L’Archipel. Although the exact hoist models used are not fully documented, the system included multiple hoists strategically deployed across the site to serve the different buildings. The solution was delivered under a combined Sales, Rental & Services agreement, ensuring full lifecycle support, from installation and operation to dismantling.

The hoists were selected for their modularity, safety features, and ability to operate efficiently in complex, multi-building environments. RAXTAR’s engineering team worked closely with BATEG to ensure seamless integration with the construction logistics and site layout.

Outcome
The RAXTAR hoisting system contributed significantly to the successful and timely delivery of L’Archipel. By enabling safe and efficient vertical transport across a complex site, the solution supported VINCI’s vision of a modern, sustainable, and collaborative headquarters. The project further demonstrated RAXTAR’s ability to deliver engineered access solutions for large-scale, multi-structure developments.
