Vertical Access Solutions for a Landmark Four-Tower Development in the Heart of Frankfurt
Project Overview
FOUR Frankfurt is a transformative high-rise development located in the very core of Frankfurt’s financial district. Designed by UNStudio and HPP Architekten, the project consists of four striking towers ranging in height from 100 to 233 meters. The mixed-use complex includes residential units, office space, retail, and public areas, redefining the city’s skyline and urban experience. Developed by Groß & Partner, FOUR is one of the most ambitious construction projects in Germany.
Client: Groß & Partner Grundstücksentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH
Partner: GP Logistics GmbH
Segment: High-rise / Mixed-use
Status: Ongoing
Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Challenge
The construction of four high-rise towers in a dense urban environment required a highly coordinated and efficient vertical access strategy. Each tower had unique logistical demands, including varying heights, construction timelines, and façade installation requirements. The project also demanded minimal disruption to the surrounding city infrastructure and required hoisting systems that could adapt to evolving site conditions.
RAXTAR Solution
RAXTAR delivered multiple RX Common Tower systems across the FOUR development. These systems serve as centralized vertical access hubs, allowing for the safe and efficient transport of personnel and materials. Key features of the solution include:
RX Common Tower with extended run-offs to accommodate setbacks and façade installation
High-capacity hoists for transporting materials to upper floors
Modular design enabling rapid adaptation as towers rise
The Common Tower systems were installed on multiple buildings, including Tower 1 (233 m) and Tower 2 (173 m), with hoists reaching up to floor 40 and beyond. The towers benefit from early façade closure while structural works continue, thanks to the centralized hoisting approach.
Outcome
The RAXTAR solution has significantly improved construction efficiency across the FOUR site. By concentrating hoisting operations in designated zones, the Common Tower systems have enabled early façade installation, reduced congestion, and supported a faster build-out of interior spaces. The project highlights RAXTAR’s expertise in delivering scalable, engineered access systems for complex, multi-tower developments.
