The Bunkertoren is a striking addition to the skyline of Eindhoven, combining bold architectural design with urban regeneration. Developed by Van Wijnen and located in the heart of the city, this high-rise residential tower reaches a height of 100 meters and stands as a symbol of Eindhoven’s transformation into a modern, vertical city. The tower integrates residential units with public spaces and is built on the site of the former student bunker, a well-known local landmark.

Challenge
Constructing a high-rise tower in a dense urban environment like Eindhoven required a vertical access solution that could handle both personnel and material transport efficiently, while minimizing disruption to the surrounding area. The project also demanded a system that could adapt to the evolving structure as the building rose, ensuring continuous access throughout all construction phases.
RAXTAR Solution
RAXTAR supplied a combination of high-performance hoists tailored to the needs of the Bunkertoren project. This included a twin configuration of the RX2745HFC hoists and a single RX2045HFCL unit. These hoists were selected for their high load capacity, reliability, and ability to operate smoothly in high-rise environments. The twin hoists provided redundancy and increased throughput, while the single hoist supported targeted logistics and personnel movement.
The hoists were installed and maintained in collaboration with ANC Platforms & Hoists, ensuring optimal uptime and safety throughout the build. Once the tower reached its full height, the hoisting systems were dismantled, having successfully supported the vertical logistics from foundation to top floor.
Outcome
The RAXTAR hoisting solution played a key role in the timely and efficient realization of the Bunkertoren. By providing safe, reliable, and high-capacity vertical access, RAXTAR enabled Van Wijnen to maintain construction momentum and meet project deadlines.
