Custom Size Matters Hoist for JPMorgan Chase’s Headquarters

Project Overview
270 Park Avenue is the global headquarters of JPMorgan Chase, located in the heart of Manhattan. The 434 m (1,425 ft) skyscraper is one of the tallest office buildings in the United States, featuring 60 floors of premium commercial space. Developed by AECOM Tishman and constructed by Safway Atlantic by Brand Safway. The project replaced the former Union Carbide Building and symbolizes a new era of sustainable, high-density corporate architecture in New York City.

Challenge
The construction of a supertall skyscraper in one of the busiest urban centers in the world required a hoisting solution that could meet extreme performance demands. The system needed to transport oversized curtain wall elements and construction materials at high speed and with maximum safety. Additionally, the hoists had to operate continuously across great vertical distances while integrating seamlessly with the site’s tight logistics and construction sequencing.

RAXTAR Solution
RAXTAR engineered and delivered two custom RX4676 T2 twin mast hoists, specifically designed for the unique requirements of 270 Park Avenue. Each hoist features:

Payload capacity: 10250 lbs (4650 kg)

Speed: 300 feet per minute (92 m/min)

These hoists were developed in close collaboration with Safway Atlantic’s engineering team and are optimized for transporting large-format curtain wall panels and other heavy materials. The RX4676SF T2 models are part of RAXTAR’s Size Matter, known for their high capacity, structural integrity, and adaptability to complex high-rise environments.
